State agency that serves people with disabilities from birth to old age through a continuum of services. Early Intervention System Provides supports and services for infants and toddlers (birth through 36 months) with developmental delays or disabilities. Children’s Rehabilitation Service Provides medical, rehabilitative, coordination, and educational support services to children (birth to 21) with special health care needs and their families in homes, schools, and other community settings. Vocational Rehabilitation Service Provides specialized employment- and education-related services and training to assist teens and adults with disabilities in becoming employed. State of Alabama Independent Living Service Provides specialized in-home education and counseling, attendant care, training, and medical services to Alabamians with the most-significant disabilities at home, school, and work.
